Studio Suvira is the home of veteran potter and sculptor Suvira McDonald. Situated amidst the verdant rainforest of Goonengerry, his gallery and sculpture garden surround the workshop area.

The traditional anagama wood fire kiln and two gas kilns produce a range of unique wares for tea and dining as well as the finely crafted everyday bowl and mug. These come from a potters’ wheel tradition. Also to be viewed there:

  • imaginative hand built sculptural works and
  • Suvira’s signature pieces – wall mounted landscapes,

This is a place for collectors to visit as the vessels emerging from the woodfirings here are fine examples of a traditional practice undergoing renewal.

For visits other than the Mud Trail weekend, please call first. His work is also found in local galleries

  • Zakay Glass Gallery, Bangalow
  • Barebones Gallery, Bangalow
  • Art Piece Gallery, Mullumbimby
  • Northern Rivers Community Gallery, Ballina
