3. Peter Pine from Pottsville

Wheel-thrown functional pottery, mid-fired with exciting colours – all level classes.

Having commenced potting in Sydney in the 1960s, I am a long-in-the-tooth potter. I was mentored by Iris Galbraith and Steve Harrison in those early days. Since then I have taught pottery at Armidale TAFE and Armidale CAE, judged several pottery exhibitions, and am currently running classes in Pottsville. I was part of a studio-gallery established in Armidale in the 1980s, and have since worked in a studio in Moree. I have experience with earthenware and stoneware, but am now working in mid-fire, especially for the colour possibilities. Glaze technology is a speciality, and along with my students, have built up an exciting repertoire of colours. Come and see functional ware decorated in these glazes – mugs, jugs, bowls and bottles!
