Ten years study at Brookvale TAFE saw her graduate with distinction and a recipient of the
TAFE state medal for excellence. Karen is also published in two volumes of Lark book series
on ceramics. Her skills further enhanced while working at Dartington Pottery, U.K one of
the most celebrated potteries in England. Influenced by their high fired glaze on glaze
production her work is firstly fired to 1000 degrees, then hand glazed and decorated prior
to a 1260 degree reduction firing in a gas kiln.
