19. Lennox Ceramics

Hand built and thrown objects including glazed figurative work, pots and bowls.

Lennox Ceramics is new to the Mud Trail and new to Lennox Head. My studio in Cliff Murray Lane provides an intimate workshop space for people to visit and learn a new skill or have some fun. I run hand building and throwing classes which are open to the general public.

As an artist my practice is multi-disciplinary. Ceramics is my number one passion and so I make a variety of ceramic objects including figurines and, pots and bowls. I exhibit my work and I have been involved in group and solo exhibitions. I make work specifically for art competitions and I have been selected as a finalist in many art prizes including; the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, the Tom Bass Sculpture Prize and The Fisher’s Ghost Art Prize.

I make work to create awareness about issues in contemporary society. I am particularly concerned about the fragility of the environment. My current work investigates the loss of flora and fauna species and the possibility of extinction.

Most of my work is hand built and hand glazed. I make my own glazes.

My studio is only two blocks from Lennox Village and so is the perfect location to start or end your Mud Trail adventure. It is just a short stroll to the beach and the Lennox precinct where you can have a coffee or sip a glass of wine in one of the many cafes in the main street of Lennox Head.
