12. Ruby & Frank Studio
Wheel-thrown functional stoneware to hand-built ceramic art pieces.
Nestled in the quaint little town of Federal in the Byron Bay Hinterland, you can find Natalia making her pieces one by one in her studio. Natalia is an adventurer at heart and this is increasingly coming through in her ceramic practice. Pushing boundaries, exploring different glaze recipes, textures and shapes this keeps Natalia engaged and excited in her practice. Much of what inspires her is drawn from nature and her personal experiences from around the world which she has traveled. Natalia grew up with her Uruguayan mother and aunty practicing ceramics which paved the way and sparked curiosity from a young age.
One of Natalia’s current works is that of her ‘South American street-scapes’ – Wall hanging (mix media) ceramic art of balconies and street scenes inspired by her Uruguayan heritage, in memory of streets she’s walked with people she loves.
